Ranked among the best international documentary and short film festivals in the world, this week-long event held every August transforms the entire historic town center into a lively place for photo exhibitions, workshops, parties and more than 200 film screenings, and brings many international visitors. 

For a taste of traditional Kosovo, head to May’s Hasi Jehon festival in the hilltop village of Gjonaj, near Prizren, which showcases the best of Kosovo’s folk song, dance and traditional costumes. Or try the July Song Festival in the town.
