2025 was an outstanding year for Funky Sails, as we welcomed travellers from all over the world onto our Croatia sailing adventures. With a strong increase in guest numbers and fully booked 4-day and 7-day all-inclusive catamaran holidays, this season proved just how much people love exploring Croatia by sea.
What guests appreciated most was the simplicity and comfort of our all-inclusive service – modern catamarans, a professional skipper and host, half-board meals, insurance, marina and buoy fees on the planned route, and early check-in already taken care of. Everything was arranged so guests could simply relax and enjoy the Adriatic without stress.
Here are the highlights that made sailing year 2025 truly special.
At Funky Sails, we truly sail. Whenever conditions allow, we raise the sails and let the wind guide us across the Adriatic – giving our guests the real sailing experience they come for. No noisy cruising, no unnecessary motoring, just the quiet power of wind, open horizons, and the calming rhythm of the sea.
Sailing through Croatia’s islands is an experience that stays with you long after the trip ends.
Each day brings a new destination – from the moon-like landscapes of Kornati National Park and the turquoise bays of Zlarin, to the timeless stone towns of Hvar and Vis, or the quiet, untouched beauty of Šćedro and Lastovo.
Travelling by sail lets you experience these islands the way they were meant to be seen: slowly, intimately, and far from the crowds. Calm mornings, warm sunsets, and starlit nights create moments that bond people and fill the days with a sense of wonder.
It’s the kind of journey that resets the mind and shows why Croatia is one of the world’s most beautiful sailing destinations.

Sailing in Croatia isn’t just about island-hopping — it’s about experiencing something new every single day. From discovering secluded bays to diving deep beneath the surface, our 2025 season was packed with moments that blended nature, fun, and pure Adriatic magic. Here are some of the unforgettable activities our guests enjoyed throughout the year.
Some of the best moments of our 2025 season happened in the water. We always try to balance between Croatia’s famous hotspots – like Hvar, Vis or Brač – and the quieter, hidden bays that only local sailors know. While it’s not always possible to avoid the crowds in iconic places, we make sure guests experience the very best these islands offer, choosing the right time of day and the right anchorages to keep the experience relaxed and enjoyable.
From peaceful morning swims in Šćedro’s untouched lagoons to afternoon stops around Kaprije, Kornati or the calmer sides of Korčula and Lastovo, every day brought a new place to dive into crystal-clear water. Swimming became a daily ritual – a moment to pause, recharge and enjoy the Adriatic at its most natural and beautiful.
Snorkeling quickly became one of the most loved activities of our 2025 season. With visibility often reaching tens of meters, Croatia’s underwater world feels like a natural aquarium – vibrant reefs, sandy-bottom bays, rocky coastlines and curious marine life everywhere you look. To give guests the best snorkeling experience, we always plan our stops around the right time of day and the best conditions, choosing locations when the light, water clarity and sea life are at their peak.
Whether drifting above Hvar’s shallow turquoise lagoons or exploring the dramatic underwater cliffs of the Kornati archipelago, snorkeling offered a peaceful, refreshing way to connect with the Adriatic.
We keep high-quality snorkeling gear on board, and our crew is always excited to guide guests toward the most beautiful spots. It’s simple, relaxing and endlessly rewarding – perfect for all ages, and always a highlight of the day.

No two sunsets on the Adriatic are ever the same, and in 2025 our guests witnessed some of the most breathtaking displays of colour imaginable. Sailing offers the rare privilege of having a front-row seat to nature’s nightly performance — wide open horizons, completely unobstructed views, and the perfect silence that comes just before the sun touches the sea.
For many, these sunsets became some of the most unforgettable images and memories of the entire journey.
2025 gave us countless opportunities to explore Croatia’s fascinating sea caves, such as Golubinka cave at Dugi Otok, or Blue cave at Bisevo island near island of Vis. Guests kayaked and swam into magical, echoing chambers carved by centuries of waves, where sunlight pours in through narrow openings and lights up the water in neon blue. These explorations added a sense of adventure and mystery to our routes — the kind of experience that makes you feel like a true explorer of the Adriatic.

This season we partnered with fantastic local diving teams to offer unforgettable underwater experiences in Kornati National Park — one of the clearest, cleanest, most spectacular diving locations in the Mediterranean. Guests dove into quiet underwater worlds filled with vibrant marine life, dramatic rock formations, and astonishing visibility. For many, it was a highlight unlike anything they had experienced

Biking became a standout adventure on our 2025 sailing trips, giving guests a chance to explore Croatia’s islands from a completely different perspective. From the dramatic cliffs and hidden bays of Dugi Otok, to the lavender hills of Hvar, the wide coastal trails on Brač, and the iconic river landscapes of Krka National Park, each location offered its own mix of nature, culture and unforgettable views.
Guests loved switching from sea to land for a few hours, riding through quiet villages, limestone paths and panoramic viewpoints that appear suddenly around each bend. The combination of fresh air, gentle activity and stunning scenery added a refreshing twist to our itineraries – and the photos from these biking days are always among the happiest of the entire trip.
This year we were proud to host a peaceful and deeply inspiring Yoga Sailing Retreat for a wonderful group of women. Sunrise sessions on deck became a daily ritual — soft waves beneath them, golden light around them, and complete calm in the air. Combining yoga with sailing brings a unique kind of serenity: a moving studio surrounded by nature, silence, and endless space. For many participants, this retreat became a personal highlight of their year.

Food and wine are an essential part of every Funky Sails journey, and in 2025 they became one of the most celebrated highlights of the season. From fresh Mediterranean meals served on board to evenings spent in hidden local konobas, every day brought a new taste of Croatia’s rich culinary heritage. Whether enjoying a simple seafood lunch at anchor, savoring the captain’s legendary mussels in Skradin, or discovering island wines during sunset tastings, our guests experienced the Adriatic not only through its landscapes — but also through its flavours.
One of the greatest joys of our all-inclusive sailing experience is the food prepared fresh on board. Every day begins with a colourful breakfast spread — fruits, cheeses, warm pastries, eggs, and local delicacies that set the tone for a relaxed day at sea.
Lunches are inspired by the Mediterranean: light, flavourful dishes featuring fresh vegetables, seafood, homemade sauces, and ingredients sourced from local island markets whenever possible. Our hosts take pride not only in the taste, but also in the presentation — meals served on deck with a sea breeze, warm sunlight, and stunning island backdrops.
These simple yet thoughtful dishes became a daily highlight for our guests, turning every mealtime into a moment to slow down, enjoy, and truly savour the Adriatic.
While life on board offers incredible comfort, some of the most unforgettable culinary moments happened on shore — in the hidden konobas and family-run taverns scattered across Croatia’s islands.
These places, often reachable only by boat, serve honest, traditional dishes that reflect centuries of coastal heritage. Guests enjoyed seafood pulled straight from the Adriatic, slow-cooked peka, grilled fish, homemade pastas, and olive oils that taste like liquid sunshine.
Every konoba has its own personality — stone terraces overlooking quiet bays, wooden tables lit by lanterns, friendly local hosts eager to share their story. Dining ashore became more than just a meal; it was a cultural experience, a connection to island life, and a reminder of how rich and diverse Croatia’s food traditions truly are.

One of the most beloved culinary traditions on our North Dalmatia sailing routes — both the 4-day and 7-day itineraries — is the Captain’s famous mussels dinner in Skradin. The magic begins even before we reach the town: as we cruise through the spectacular Krka Canal, we stop to pick up freshly harvested mussels, collected less than 30 minutes before docking. Straight from the local farms to our catamaran, they are prepared immediately upon arrival — the freshest possible seafood experience.
Using the classic Dalmatian buzara method — white wine, garlic, olive oil, parsley, and a touch of sea-born simplicity — our Captain transforms these mussels into a dish that guests rave about long after their trip.
What makes this dinner truly special is the setting: the peaceful waters of Skradin, the scent of the river blending with Adriatic air, boats softly rocking in the marina, and everyone gathering around to taste the final creation. It’s a moment of connection, laughter, storytelling, and pure Dalmatian soul. Every season, this dinner becomes one of the most memorable highlights of our sailing journeys.
Croatia is one of Europe’s most exciting emerging wine destinations, and our 2025 sailing season brought guests closer to its rich traditions and unforgettable flavours. Each region we visited offered something unique — from bold reds grown on steep coastal slopes to crisp island whites shaped by salt, sun, and centuries of craftsmanship.
Some of the most memorable tastings took place in world-class wine regions such as Hvar, celebrated for its elegant Bogdanuša and Pošip; Brač, famous for robust Plavac Mali; and the legendary Pelješac Peninsula, home to Croatia’s most iconic reds from Dingač and Postup. We also enjoyed beautiful wines from the Skradin region, known for Debit and Maraština, and explored the refined flavours of Korčula, birthplace of the renowned Pošip and Grk varieties.
Whether tasting onboard at sunset, visiting local family-run wineries, or pairing wines with freshly prepared seafood on shore, guests were able to discover the true character of Croatian viticulture.

Sunsets at sea carry their own kind of magic, and in 2025 our guests embraced a simple tradition that made these moments unforgettable — enjoying cocktails on deck as the Adriatic sky shifted through shades of gold, orange, and soft pink. Whether it was an Aperol spritz, a crisp gin & tonic, chilled rosé, or a refreshing local liqueur, each drink became part of the rhythm of life on board.
Our 2025 season welcomed an inspiring mix of travellers — families creating lifelong memories, groups of adult friends celebrating special moments, and senior guests enjoying a comfortable, enriching escape at sea. What made this season truly exceptional was the care we put into ensuring the right people sailed together.
For our cabin charter departures, we thoughtfully matched guests based on their interests, travel style, and age group, making sure that everyone onboard felt comfortable and aligned with the overall vibe of the trip. This meant we never mixed groups with expectations that didn’t fit together — preserving harmony, enjoyment, and the easy flow of life on the Adriatic.
Of course, when guests sailed with us on private charters, no matching was needed — they enjoyed the boat exclusively with their own group, at their own rhythm, with full flexibility to tailor every moment.
Together, this approach allowed every traveller in 2025 to feel at home on our catamarans, ensuring a season filled with connection, comfort, and unforgettable experiences.
Sailing became one of the most rewarding family experiences of our 2025 season. Parents loved how easy and stress-free life on a catamaran can be, while children embraced every moment with curiosity and joy. From swimming in calm, shallow bays to exploring quiet island villages, our itineraries were carefully designed to be kid-friendly, safe, and full of gentle adventure.
Crews adapted daily plans to match the rhythm of each family — slower mornings, plenty of swimming stops, flexible meal times, and activities that kept young sailors entertained and happy. Whether it was learning to steer the boat, spotting dolphins, jumping off the stern, or discovering hidden coves, kids flourished in this natural playground, and parents enjoyed rare uninterrupted quality time together.
We also ensure that family departures are organized separately from our adult-only trips, so every family can relax fully, knowing the environment suits their pace and comfort. For many families this year, sailing with us became more than a holiday — it became a shared memory they will talk about for years.
Our 2025 season showed just how magical sailing can be for groups of adults looking to reconnect, celebrate, or simply break free from routine. We welcomed groups of lifelong friends, university reunions, birthday celebrations, anniversaries, and couples’ getaways — each discovering that a catamaran journey is the perfect blend of fun, freedom, and pure Adriatic beauty.
What adults loved most was the flexibility to shape their days exactly as they wished. Some groups leaned into Croatia’s vibrant side, enjoying the lively summer atmosphere of Hvar, sunset cocktails in stylish beach bars, and evenings spent exploring historic coastal towns filled with music and energy. Others preferred the peace and exclusivity of remote bays in Kornati National Park, where the sea is calm, the nights are quiet, and the only lights above are the stars.
And many chose a perfect mix of both — a few nights of celebration followed by tranquil days anchored in pristine nature.
Many of our most memorable guests in 2025 were seniors discovering (or rediscovering) the joy of sailing. For travellers with normal mobility who can swim and walk regular paths, our all-inclusive sailing holidays offer an ideal blend of comfort, gentle adventure, and breathtaking scenery — without any need to worry about physical strain or demanding activities.
Our catamarans provide stable, spacious, and easy-to-move-around environments, with comfortable cabins, shaded lounge areas, and calm mooring locations chosen specifically for safe access to the sea and shore.
Seniors appreciated that days on the Adriatic follow a relaxed rhythm: slow mornings, scenic cruising, plenty of swim breaks, cultural visits to charming island towns, and evenings spent enjoying good meals in a peaceful, uplifting atmosphere.
Nights on the Adriatic are just as special as the days. Many evenings on our 2025 trips were spent anchored in remote bays, far from towns and light pollution. Under these dark skies, guests could clearly see the Milky Way and often relaxed on deck watching thousands of stars drift overhead – quiet, peaceful moments that became some of the most unforgettable parts of the journey.
But nights at sea also brought warmth and fun. Guests enjoyed card games, quizzes, board games and easy conversation on deck, with the soft glow of boat lights and the gentle sound of waves creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
We always offer ideas and setups to help guests enjoy their evenings – whether they prefer stargazing, a cosy game night or a quiet drink under the moonlight. Nights on the Adriatic hold their own kind of magic, and we make sure every guest has the chance to experience it.
