Sailing through Central Dalmatia, whether with us or on your own, you have to spend an evening wandering Hvar Town’s stone streets like a local or at least a very stylish tourist.
It is imperative to stumble into hidden courtyards that feel like secret clubs, and taste dishes that might make you seriously consider moving here. The next morning, wake up to the sparkling harbor ready for a day full of adventures, hopefully after a proper coffee and not just three espresso shots and some questionable decisions from last night.
Hvar Town’s streets, sun-soaked piazzas, and charming harbor have kept that authentic “I’m on an Adriatic island and life is good” vibe.
Perfect for snapping photos your friends will envy, exploring quirky galleries, or pretending you actually know what you are doing while poking around artisan workshops. This town makes it impossible not to fall in love.

Hvar Town is the beating heart of the island, where history, culture, and modern life come together effortlessly. The stone streets and piazzas have kept their authentic charm, perfect for wandering, snapping photos, and discovering local galleries and artisan workshops.
The heart of Hvar is definitely Trg Svetog Stjepana, the main square where locals and visitors mix, chat, sip coffee, and watch the world go by.
The Cathedral of Saint Stephen dominates the square with its bell tower, and if you’re up for a mini workout, climb to the top for views over the harbor that are totally worth it. The square is perfect for wandering, snapping photos, and just soaking up the lively atmosphere.
You might catch a street musician playing a tune in the corner, overhear laughter from a café, or get distracted by the irresistible scent of freshly baked pastries. Honestly, the square is basically Hvar’s living room, and everyone is invited to take a seat and enjoy the vibe.
Our tip? Grab a coffee or gelato from one of the cafés, find a sunny spot, and just watch the square come alive – it’s the best way to feel the heartbeat of Hvar. And if you’re feeling adventurous, try to spot a hidden courtyard or two – they often have live music or a small art gallery tucked away, waiting to surprise you.

Perched above Hvar Town, the 16th-century Fortica Fortress is an absolute must-see, with epic views of the town and the Pakleni Islands. The fort you see today was built on the site of a Gothic castle and even survived a gunpowder explosion back in 1579, so basically, it’s tougher than any of us after a night out in Hvar.
We usually recommend walking up to the fortress, taking your time to enjoy the cute stone streets and the climb with great views along the way. But if your legs are protesting, a taxi works just fine, and bicycles are a perfect option too because Hvar is honestly made for pedaling around like a local.
Tickets are 10 Euros for adults, with discounts for children and students, and kids under 7 enter free. You can grab them at the entrance or online through official Hvar tourism websites. The fortress is open daily from early morning to late evening, with even longer hours in summer.
Our tip? Go early or later in the afternoon to avoid the heat and get the best light for photos — your Instagram will thank you.

If you’re sailing with us, you definitely won’t be missing out on beaches, but Hvar is also famous for its lively beach bars, crystal-clear water, and those little hidden coves where you can stretch out and pretend the Adriatic is all yours.
Even right in town, there are some spots worth checking out. Pokonji Dol Beach is perfect for a quick swim or sunbathing, with a lovely pebble shoreline and crystal-clear water that makes you feel like you’re swimming in a pool.
Hula Hula Beach Bar is a must if you want a cocktail in one hand and the Adriatic in the other, plus the music and people-watching make it a lot of fun. Walking along the coast, you’ll also find smaller, quieter coves where you can lay out a towel, read a book, or just float in the calm water.
The sun warms everything just right, and the views of the cliffs and the sparkling sea are honestly hypnotizing.
Our tip? Bring a towel, a hat, order a cocktail, and be ready to lose track of time in the best possible way. Or, you can always stay with us and simply lounge on deck, sip something cold, and watch Hvar Town’s sun-soaked harbor come alive.

Hvar isn’t just about stunning views and beaches, it’s a paradise for food lovers too. Cozy terraces fill with people enjoying local wines, fresh seafood, and Mediterranean dishes, while the scent of something delicious cooking seems to follow you everywhere.
What we really loved was trying the pašticada, honestly probably the best we’ve ever had, rich, slow-cooked, and unforgettable. You might even find yourself thinking about moving to Hvar just to eat it every week. As the sun sets, the town comes alive. Live music drifts from hidden courtyards, laughter spills from cafés, and the energy is contagious.
Hvar is also famous for its nightlife, with beach bars and clubs like Hula Hula and Carpe Diem hosting lively parties that go on well past midnight. Whether you’re up for a quiet dinner, sipping a cocktail at sunset, or dancing under the stars, Hvar has something for everyone.
Our tip? Hvar isn’t exactly budget friendly, so plan ahead if you want to indulge in some of the finer restaurants or sip cocktails on a terrace. But trust us, a beautiful sunset, a good meal, a glass of local wine, and maybe a little dancing to finish the night are worth every penny. And if you’re lucky, you might stumble upon a courtyard concert or a surprise DJ set, Hvar knows how to keep things exciting.
Hvar will steal your heart, your appetite, and probably a few hours of your life without you even noticing — and you’ll love every second of it.
