Meet & Greet

This tour is set to start from Podgorica, but it can also be organized to start from the Bay of Kotor or Budva. Our drivers will pick you up wherever necessary in the early morning hours, and after a short briefing you are ready to go.

The departure of the tour from Podgorica is at 8 am, and from the coastal part of Montenegro (Kotor / Budva) at 7 am.

Morača Canyon & Kolašin

The morning ride regardless of our departure point (Kotor – Budva – Podgorica) will take us through the beautiful region of Morača river canyon. Although overshadowed by the beauty and grandeur of the famous Tara River Canyon in the north, the Morača River Canyon is the second largest canyon in Montenegro. Get ready to have a stunning day from the very early on. Usually we drive through this region without stopping, since our goal today is beautiful Bjelasica mountain, but in case requested, some nice panorama viewpoints are an option for short stops.

Later we shall pass through Kolašin, a 17th century town, today a main ski resort in Montenegro, until we meet the first outlines of beautiful Bjelasica mountain.

Moraca Canyon Montenegro

>Morača Canyon is characterized by steep, in some parts vertical shores, and in some parts exceeds the height of 1000m.

Katun Vranjak

As soon as we leave the asphalt and start our off-road climb towards the first peaks of Bjelasica mountain, we shall make our first break at Katun Vranjak.

The green meadows of the Bjelasica mountain, at an altitude of 1800m, are home to the Katun Vranjak. “Katun”, meaning summer pasture, originated in the tradition and life of Montenegrin highlanders several centuries ago.

Katun is a great place for our first tour break. Whether you want to have a coffee, have breakfast or just enjoy the beautiful landscape that surrounds this location, we are at your disposal.

>Katun Vranjak is a place where you can learn about the tradition and culture of the Montenegro nomads while trying some of the best of local cuisine.

Zekova Glava Peak

As soon as we move on and leave Katun Vranjak behind, we enter the paradise of the Biogradska Gora National Park.

Our next important point is the third highest peak of the mountain Bjelasica, Zekova Glava, which rises to a height of 2117m above sea level. A very solid macadam road leads us to the very top.

At the very top there is a radio transmitter, and the views from the top are fantastic and reach all 4 corners of the world, including peaks of Troglava and Crna Glava, but especially the views of Pešića Lake which is located below the very top, and it can be reached by a short walk from the top of Zekova Glava.

Via Bjelasica Mountain

After a pleasurable time at peak Zekova Glava, our journey continues. We continue towards the highest peak of Bjelasica mountain called Crna Glava (2139m), and through beautiful landscapes we continue off-road driving towards Jaganjčar, the source of the Biogradska river.

Bjelasica Mountain is one of the water richest mountains in Montenegro, and we do not miss the opportunity to refresh ourselves with water from the source of the Biogradska River.

Bendovac Viewpoint

Our today’s tour, is a panoramic tour almost the whole day. As we have already mentioned, at several occasions we will have the opportunity to enjoy the panoramas of beautiful glacial lakes of Bjelasica, such as Pešića, Ursulovačko and Šiško lakes.

But, one of the most beautiful lookouts of the day is Bendovac. The belvedere located at an altitude of 1775m, from which you can see the largest glacial lake of the Bjelasica mountain, Biograd Lake and the Biogradska rainforest that surrounds it, is a place and experience that we must not miss.

>Biograd lake view during the later autumn.

Dolovi Lalovića - Lunch

Today’s local lunch is planned at the location of Dolovi Lalovića. Here we will have the opportunity to try some of the delicacies of local, high-mountain Montenegrin cuisine.

At the site you will have the opportunity to meet local semi-nomads, understand their life and centuries-old tradition, and if you decide to support the local community, you will have a chance to buy some of the local products.

Biograd Lake

The last part of the road before we descend to Lake Bigorad will be a part of the road with serpentines that will take us through the deep parts of the Biograd rainforest.

When we descend to the lake, you will have the opportunity to tour around the lake on your own, or optionally enjoy floating with wooden boats that can be rented on site for true enjoyment of this UNESCO-protected landscape.
