If we start from Podgorica, the morning start is at 8 am, and if we start from the Kotor region, the tour starts at 7 am.

Katun Vranjak

The green meadows of the Bjelasica mountain, at an altitude of 1800m, are home to the Katun Vranjak. “Katun”, meaning summer pasture, originated in the tradition and life of Montenegrin highlanders several centuries ago. Today it is a place where you can experience the tradition and culture of the Montenegro nomads.

Katun Vranjak is the starting point of many hiking trails on the Bjelasica mountain.

Regardless of what you have decided, to opt for an easier (2 to 3 hours) or demanding (6 to 8 hours) hiking option, Katun Vranjak is a place where we leave our vehicles and start our mountain adventure on the mountain Bjelasica.

Additionally if you have opted for a panorama ride via beautiful regions of Bjelasica mountain, Katun Vranjak is a great place for a break.

Zekova Glava Peak

Zekova Glava is the third largest peak of the Bjelasica mountain. It is 2117m high and overgrown with grass, offering an amazing scenic experience.

The best way to access Zekova Glava is the mountain trail from Katun Vranjak via Troglava to the very top.

The views from the very top are fantastic, especially the view of Pešića Lake which is located below the very top, and it can be reached by a short walk from the top of Zekova Glava.

With the option of easy hiking, we always visit the top of Zekova Glava, with the possibility of extending the route to Pešića Lake. And in the option of challenging hiking, we always visit Zekova Glava, Pešića Lake and Crna Glava as the highest peak of the Bjelasica mountain.

Lastly, the easiest way to reach Zekova Glava peak is by the mountain road from the direction of the town of Kolašin via Vranjak. In that way access to the top is possible without much effort, making it ideal solution for the people not willing to do any hiking at all.

The maximum depth of the lake is 8.5 meters, and with length of 290 meters and a width of 160 meters, rich in water throughout the year, this the second largest lake in the mountain Bjelasica.

Access to the lake is possible from the top of Zekova Glava. If you decide for an easy option of hiking by conquering the top of Zekova Glava with the optional extension of the tour to Pešića Lake, you will have a great day.

If you decide on the challenging option of hiking, in addition to visiting the peaks of Zekova and Crna Glava, a visit to Pešića Lake is a must.
