This is not a simplified version of the Balkans.
It is an honest one.
This 8-day small-group guided journey begins in Sarajevo and unfolds through Herzegovina and Montenegro, moving deliberately across borders, landscapes and histories that do not fit into neat narratives. The route follows rivers, mountain corridors and coastal edges, allowing places to reveal themselves gradually rather than be explained away.
The experience opens in Sarajevo, a city where everyday life and unresolved history exist side by side. Time here is not rushed. Stories are not softened.
Understanding is built through firsthand accounts, walking, conversation and moments of silence where silence is needed. This is not dark tourism, nor is it comfort-driven storytelling. It is context, responsibility and presence.
As the journey turns south, Herzegovina introduces a different rhythm. Stone towns, karst landscapes and powerful water sources reshape both the scenery and the pace. Stops such as Blagaj and Počitelj are approached as lived places, not curated attractions. Food and wine appear naturally, as part of daily life and regional logic, not as performances for visitors.
Crossing into Montenegro, the atmosphere shifts again. The Bay of Kotor softens the pace, offering space rather than spectacle. Time is spent both on foot and on the water, allowing the coastline to be experienced rather than consumed. From there, the route climbs inland toward Lovćen and Skadar Lake, where scale replaces detail and stillness becomes the dominant feature.
The final stage leads into Durmitor National Park. Here, explanation gives way to presence. Mountains, glacial lakes and open roads form a natural closing chapter, where earlier experiences begin to connect without being summarised. By this point, the journey no longer asks for interpretation. It asks only for attention.
Food throughout the itinerary is treated as part of understanding, not as a separate attraction. Funky Tours Treats mark specific moments within the route, from Sarajevo food tastings to riverside meals in Herzegovina and a mountain lunch in Durmitor.
These are pauses, not highlights. Nothing is staged. Everything reflects how people here actually eat, wait and share time.
The itinerary involves light to moderate physical activity, including walking, short hikes and optional outdoor experiences. It is not physically demanding, but it is mentally and emotionally present. Some stories are heavy. Some days are quiet.
Guests are never left alone with the weight of these experiences. The journey is guided, held and paced by a local team that knows when to speak, when to pause, and when to simply be present.
This journey is not designed for fast-paced sightseeing, nightlife-focused travel or constant stimulation. It is designed for travellers who value depth over ease, context over polish and understanding over reassurance.
Unlike itineraries built around a single base or a linear list of landmarks, this journey unfolds across regions, allowing contrasts to emerge naturally. Cities and wilderness, memory and stillness, water and stone exist side by side without being resolved into a single message.
Operated In-House by Funky Tours
This itinerary is designed and delivered entirely in-house by Funky Tours. The same local team accompanies guests throughout the journey, ensuring continuity, flexibility and a human presence from the first arrival to the final day.
A Flexible Way to Travel
A private version of this itinerary is available for travellers who wish to adjust pacing, personalise activities or continue the journey further, following the same measured approach into neighbouring regions.
Peace of Mind by Funky Tours
Our Peace of Mind by Funky Tours policy is built around clarity, transparency and ease – so guests can focus on the journey, not the logistics.
All essential entrance fees are included in the tour price. We intentionally avoid the common industry practice of advertising lower prices and then requesting mandatory entrance fees on-site, often in cash. With Funky Tours, everything essential to the experience is clearly included upfront.
This means no hidden costs, no surprises along the way and no awkward cash payments during the tour. What you see listed is exactly what you get.
Outstanding Value for Money
When comparing the overall experience, comfort and inclusions, this tour offers exceptional value for money. Thoughtfully designed routes, local experts, smooth logistics and meaningful encounters provide a depth of experience that cannot be matched by independent travel, buses or rental cars.
Every detail is considered with purpose, ensuring the journey feels seamless, rich and well-balanced from start to finish.
Flexible & Hassle-Free Payment Options
Guests can choose the payment method that suits them best:
Once the booking is completed, there is no need to carry cash for included services, entrance fees or core activities. Everything essential is already covered.
Travel with confidence.
Travel with clarity.
That is Peace of Mind by Funky Tours.
This journey is designed for travellers who value depth, context and a steady pace over speed and spectacle. It suits people who enjoy meaningful conversation, independent thinking and moments of quiet as much as shared experiences.
Some days are reflective, some stories are heavy, and not every moment is designed to be easy or uplifting.
Group size is intentionally limited which allows the atmosphere to remain calm, flexible and unforced. Conversation happens naturally. Silence is equally welcome. There are no icebreakers, no pressure to perform socially and no expectation to “bond” on a schedule.
Most guests join as solo travellers or couples and quickly find a comfortable rhythm within the group. The dynamic tends to be thoughtful, respectful and quietly social, shaped more by shared curiosity than by extroversion.
If you are comfortable travelling with people you have not met before, and appreciate a group environment that allows space for both connection and independence, this journey is likely a good fit.
The itinerary involves light to moderate physical activity, including walking, short hikes and optional outdoor experiences. No special fitness level is required, but a willingness to be present is.
Some days are active and outdoors-focused. Others slow down deliberately. Certain parts of the journey, particularly in Sarajevo, carry emotional weight and invite reflection rather than quick conclusions.
Guests are never left alone with the depth of these experiences. The journey is guided, held and paced by a local team that understands when a story needs explanation, when it needs context, and when it needs space.
This balance allows the journey to remain accessible without becoming superficial, and meaningful without becoming overwhelming.
Sarajevo The Most convenient arrival point is Sarajevo International Airport (SJJ). Still, you are free to require this package to start from Dubrovnik (DBV), Tivat (TIV), or Podgorica (TGD) as well.
Dubrovnik/Tivat/Podgorica If you plan to arrive at either of these places, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us and we shall adjust the itinerary to your needs.
Arrival Your arrival on Day 1 can be anytime.
Departure Tour ends on the evening of Day 8. You can schedule your departure on Day 9, or possibly consider a post-trip tour extension.

This day is dedicated to understanding Sarajevo beyond postcards and headlines, through places and voices that shaped its most defining years.
The day begins with an in-depth exploration of the Siege of Sarajevo, one of the longest sieges in modern history and a key chapter for understanding Bosnia & Herzegovina and the wider Balkan region.
The experience is led by a local Sarajevan who lived through the siege and was directly involved in the civilian resistance, ensuring historical accuracy, personal context, and responsible storytelling grounded in firsthand experience and verified international court rulings.
Visits include key locations such as Sniper Alley, the former Holiday Inn, the Sarajevo War Tunnel, the Olympic Bobsled Track on Trebević Mountain, the Jewish Cemetery, and other sites that today stand as quiet witnesses to the events of the 1990s.
The focus is not on shock, but on understanding, resilience, and the importance of preserving factual memory in a region where denial and historical distortion still persist.

Later, the pace softens as a guided walking tour introduces the older layers of Sarajevo. From its medieval beginnings through Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian periods, the city reveals how different empires, religions, and traditions shaped a shared urban space.
Along the way, stories of the medieval Bosnian Kingdom, the start of World War I, the 1984 Winter Olympics, and daily life during the siege naturally intersect. This tour is designed to provide context. Not just dates and events, but how people lived, adapted, and continue to live in a city defined by coexistence and complexity.
This is not a lecture. Questions, interruptions, and curious detours are welcome.
FUNKY TOURS TREAT
Traditional Food Tasting
During the walk, guests are treated to a tasting of local specialties.
Sarajevo’s famous ćevapi are served the way locals insist is the only correct way. Vegetarian alternatives are available, including traditional Bosnian pita with cheese, spinach, or potatoes. One small rule applies here: in Sarajevo, burek has meat.
Everything else has a different name, and locals take this distinction seriously. Learning this on day two tends to save a lot of confusion, and occasionally a passionate local debate, later on.

The remainder of the day is left open for personal exploration.
Whether wandering the narrow streets of Baščaršija, following the river through the Austro-Hungarian quarter, or settling into a café, the city reveals itself gradually.
Sarajevo does not rush its stories. Neither does this day.
EVENING SUGGESTIONS

Optional Activities
Lukomir Hiking Tour
Srebrenica Genocide Tour
East Bosnia & West Serbia UNESCO Tour
After two full days of Sarajevo stories and landscapes, today is intentionally left flexible. This is a chance to slow down, revisit places you enjoyed most, explore Sarajevo independently, or simply rest and absorb the journey so far.
There is no fixed schedule for today. Your Funky Tours Host remains available for recommendations, directions, and practical assistance, while the pace and structure stay entirely in your hands.
Guests usually choose one optional experience, or none at all. This day is not about fitting everything in. Doing nothing at all is a perfectly valid choice today.
In Sarajevo, sitting somewhere with coffee and no plan is considered a very respectable activity.
Lukomir Hiking Tour
A full-day hike into the highlands above Sarajevo, reaching Lukomir, the highest and most remote traditional village in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This experience focuses on walking, open landscapes and mountain life, offering a slower rhythm shaped by nature and space.
Best suited for guests who enjoy being outdoors and spending a full day in nature. The hike to Lukomir unveils stunning vistas and fosters cultural connections, creating an unforgettable adventure that intertwines nature and heritage in an unspoiled setting.
Srebrenica Genocide Tour
A full-day visit for those who wish to continue exploring Bosnia and Herzegovina’s recent history in a focused and respectful way. The tour offers essential context, understanding and space for reflection, guided with care and responsibility.

Recommended for guests who feel ready to engage further with this part of the region’s story. This tour is a powerful opportunity to acknowledge the past, raise awareness, and contribute to a world where such atrocities are never repeated, fostering a commitment to peace, understanding, and humanity.
East Bosnia & West Serbia UNESCO Tour
A cross-border journey connecting towns, cultural landmarks and UNESCO-listed sites in eastern Bosnia and western Serbia. This experience offers broader regional context, highlighting shared heritage, contrasts and historical layers beyond Sarajevo.
Ideal for guests interested in culture, history and seeing the wider Balkan picture.

WHEN YOU HAVE FREE TIME IN SARAJEVO
For a very local experience, consider taking tram line 3 from the city centre toward Ilidža. The ride passes through several neighbourhoods and offers a simple way to observe how the city gradually changes beyond the historic core.
From Ilidža, you can continue with a walk through Vrelo Bosne, a large park area with flat, tree-lined paths, natural springs, and open green space. The walk is easy to adjust to your own pace and works well as a slow, open-ended afternoon outdoors.
Your Funky Tours Host can assist with directions or practical tips if you decide to explore independently.
A quiet and powerful place that focuses on childhoods shaped by war. Told through personal objects, stories and voices, the museum offers an intimate perspective that complements what you may have learned earlier, without overwhelming. Many guests choose to visit independently and at their own pace.
A focused memorial gallery dedicated to the events of Srebrenica. Designed for a reflective visit, this space invites understanding and remembrance through carefully curated photography and narration. Best visited when you feel ready to spend time quietly, without rushing.
For something lighter, pick up a slice from Pekara kod Mahira, a small local place known for its no-frills Bosnian-style pizza, and walk up to the Yellow Bastion. From here, Sarajevo opens up below you as the light changes. A simple, local and very Sarajevo way to end the day.
If you prefer a pub atmosphere, Pivnica HS is a good option for local beer and an easygoing, social vibe. For guests interested in events, Viking Pub occasionally hosts quiz nights and other social events, sometimes in English.
Sarajevo’s nightlife is event-driven rather than fixed. Your Funky Tours Host will be happy to check what’s happening that evening and suggest options based on current events and your preferences.

What’s included today
– Breakfast
– Transfers in private vehicle
– Blagaj Dervish House (Tekke) Entrance Fee
– Tito’s Bunker Entrance Fee
– Funky Tours Treat: Lunch by the Buna River
Driving Time: Approx. 3 hrs
After breakfast, the journey continues south into Herzegovina, a region where stone, water and light gradually reshape both the landscape and the pace of the day.
Rather than rushing between highlights, the route is designed as a continuous journey through places where history and geography quietly overlap.
The first stop is Konjic, a small riverside town framed by mountains and known for its well-preserved Ottoman stone bridge. A short walk through the old bazaar reveals everyday life unfolding much as it has for generations, unforced and unpolished.
Just outside town, a very different layer of history emerges with a visit to Tito’s Bunker. Hidden deep beneath the mountain, this Cold War-era facility reveals a world built in secrecy, designed to survive the unimaginable.
Walking through its underground halls places Yugoslavia’s political ambitions and anxieties into sharp, tangible focus.
From Konjic, the road continues along the Neretva River toward Jablanica. A brief stop at the site of the World War II Battle of the Neretva anchors the day in another defining moment of regional history. Here, landscape and memory are inseparable, and the river below explains as much as any monument ever could.
The route continues to Blagaj and the Dervish House (Tekke), a 16th-century Sufi monastery built at the source of the Buna River. For over five centuries, this site has been a place of spiritual practice and quiet continuity in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Beside the tekke, the Buna River springs directly from the rock. One of the most powerful karst springs in Europe, its emerald water shapes both the landscape and the atmosphere of Blagaj, making this stop feel less like a visit and more like a pause.
Lunch is served beside the Buna River in Blagaj, just below the Dervish House. Plans tend to loosen here, usually somewhere between the sound of the river and the arrival of lunch.
FUNKY TOURS TREAT
Lunch in Blagaj
Lunch is served beside the Buna River in Blagaj, just below the Dervish House. Plans tend to loosen here, usually somewhere between the sound of the river and the arrival of lunch. It is a moment designed to slow the day, not to fill it.

We shall reach Mostar in the late afternoon and take you to your centrally located hotel, where you can rest before we explore the city and its most important landmarks.
Being the place that naturally connects the Adriatic coastline and Bosnian hinterland, Mostar is a unique fusion of numerous different historical periods that staked their claim to the city and sculpted it in a way that it proudly stands on a throne of the cultural, historical, architectural and natural diversity of Balkans.
WHEN YOU HAVE FREE TIME IN MOSTAR
Later in the afternoon, those who wish can return to the Old Bridge area after the crowds have faded. With most shops closed and the streets quiet, the space changes completely. Sitting near the river with a drink, listening to the Neretva flow beneath the stone arch, offers one of Mostar’s most intimate moments. No schedule, no structure — just time and place.

The Partisan Cemetery, designed by Yugoslav architect Bogdan Bogdanović, lies above the city and is reached by a short uphill walk from the old town. Built in 1965, the memorial honors World War II victims from Mostar and stands as a powerful example of landscape architecture and collective memory. Quiet and rarely visited, it offers a different perspective on the city’s past and ideals that once shaped the region.

What’s included today
– Breakfast
– Transfers in private vehicle
– Kravice Waterfalls Entrance Fee
– Funky Tours Treat: Wine Tasting in Herzegovina Region
Driving Time: Approx. 3.5 hrs
After a slightly later departure, the day begins in Počitelj, a fortified stone town rising above the Neretva River. Its narrow streets, towers and defensive walls trace more than six centuries of layered history, from the medieval Bosnian period through Ottoman rule.
Walking through Počitelj today also reveals a quieter and less comfortable reality. The town was heavily damaged during the war of the 1990s, and while parts have been restored, much remains caught between survival and neglect.
The visit provides factual context grounded in place, allowing the setting itself to explain both what was lost and what continues to endure.
From stone and memory, the landscape softens at the Kravice Waterfalls on the Trebižat River. In Herzegovina’s karst terrain, water shapes everything.
Cascades spill into natural pools framed by greenery, creating a pause that feels restorative rather than scheduled. Time here is intentionally open, with space to walk, sit by the water, or, in warmer months, swim and stop for a drink at one of the riverside cafés.
Herzegovina tends to make timetables negotiable once shade and water are involved.

The next stop will be Tvrdoš Monastery near Trebinje. Built on the remains of an early Byzantine church, the monastery stands above the turquoise Trebišnjica River, combining active spiritual life with a long-standing wine-making tradition.
FUNKY TOURS TREAT
Wine Tasting at Tvrdoš Monastery
Tvrdoš produces some of Herzegovina’s most respected wines, including the indigenous Žilavka and robust Vranac, alongside carefully crafted international varieties.
Tasting here offers a natural contrast to earlier vineyards, highlighting how shared geography produces different expressions across Herzegovina’s cultural landscape. Different traditions, same sun, equally convincing results.

We shall arrive to Kotor in the late afternoon hours and let you enjoy the evening on your own.

– Breakfast (if accommodation is included)
– Transfers in private vehicle
– Guided Tour of Kotor
– Boat ride in the Bay of Kotor (Perast)
– Visit to Our Lady of the Rocks
Travel time
– Approx. 1 hr
This day is designed to slow the pace and experience Kotor Bay from both land and sea, balancing gentle exploration with time that is intentionally left unstructured.
After a relaxed morning, those who wish can step into Kotor’s old town before it fully wakes up. Local markets and early movement outside the Sea Gate offer a glimpse of everyday life before the streets fill and the tempo changes.
A walking tour introduces the layered history of Kotor through its narrow stone streets, fortified walls and hidden courtyards. Protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and shaped by centuries of maritime trade and shifting empires, Kotor remains compact, walkable and remarkably intact.
As midday approaches and the town grows busier, the route moves away from the old walls and out into the wider bay.
A short drive leads to Perast, a baroque town facing the narrow maritime entrance to Kotor Bay. Once a powerful naval center, Perast now feels suspended between elegance and stillness.
From the shore, a short boat ride reaches the islet of Our Lady of the Rocks. Built over centuries by local sailors, the artificial island and its church reflect the bay’s deep connection to seafaring tradition, devotion and collective memory.
By mid-afternoon, everyone reconvenes in Kotor, leaving the rest of the day open. Whether for a swim, a walk along the city walls, or an evening spent watching the bay change color, Kotor rewards those who do very little, very well.
FREE TIME SUGGESTIONS
Above the old town rises the Stone staircase to St. John’s Fortress. The climb rewards those willing to take it with sweeping views over Kotor, the bay and the surrounding mountains. The walk is best done early in the morning or later in the afternoon, especially during warmer months. The pace and timing are entirely flexible and fit naturally into your free time in Kotor.
The Maritime Museum of Montenegro in Kotor grew from the collection founded by the “Boka Marine” Fraternity around 1880. It opened to the public in 1900 – a great place to visit for history buffs and lovers of the maritime glory of Kotor.
Kotor’s affection for cats is no secret, and this small, informal museum embraces that relationship with charm. Located inside the old town, the Cats Museum displays a quirky collection of postcards, photographs and memorabilia, with proceeds supporting local animal care. A light, unexpected stop that reflects the everyday character of the city.

What’s included today
– Breakfast
– Skadar Lake National Park Boat Ride
– Lovćen National Park
– Guided walking tour of Budva
– Local Montenegro Wine Tasting
Driving Time: Approx. 3.45 hrs
After breakfast in Kotor, the route climbs quickly above the bay, following a series of mountain roads that open wide views back toward the water below. The ascent toward Lovćen National Park marks a clear shift from the coast into the country’s highland interior.
Stops along the way allow time to take in panoramic viewpoints above the Bay of Kotor, including the historic serpentine road toward Njeguši. There is an option to pause briefly in the village itself, known for its long tradition of smoked prosciutto and local produce.
At the top of Lovćen National Park, time is set aside near the Njegoš Mausoleum, where the scale of the landscape becomes fully apparent, stretching from mountains to sea. Lovćen is where Montenegro pulls away from the coast and looks inward, grounding the day before it opens back toward water again.
From Lovćen, the route descends toward Skadar Lake National Park.
FUNKY TOURS TREAT
Skadar Lake Boat Ride
A slow boat ride across Skadar Lake, moving through open water and reed-lined channels where the landscape feels largely untouched. Small monasteries sit quietly along the shoreline, reminders of how long life has followed the rhythms of the lake.
There is no rush and no commentary-heavy experience here. Just time on the water, space to observe, and a different pace from the mountain roads earlier in the day. A simple moment built into the route, allowing the lake to speak for itself.
During the boat ride, a small Funky Tours moment is built in. Enjoy a local Montenegrin wine tasting, shared simply on the water, without formality or presentation.
After disembarking near Rijeka Crnojevića, there is free time for lunch, with local fish specialties among the recommended options.
Later in the day, the journey continues back toward the coast and into Budva. Time is set aside to walk through the old town, where stone streets, Venetian walls and everyday life create a sharp contrast to the open landscapes of the interior.
The return to Kotor follows the coastline as the light softens. This day shows Montenegro in layers rather than highlights, moving between height, stillness and coastal life without ever rushing the experience.

What’s included today
– Breakfast
– Visit to Durmitor National Park
Driving Time
Approx. 3.45 hrs
Optional Activity
– Tara River Rafting
– Đurđevića Tara Bridge with Zippline
– Ostrog Monastery: For guests with a particular interest in Orthodox heritage, Ostrog Monastery can be visited as an optional extension or as part of a dedicated Montenegro-focused itinerary.

After an early departure, the route leaves the coast behind and heads north into Montenegro’s interior. As altitude increases, the landscape changes gradually but decisively.
Mediterranean stone gives way to forests, open plateaus and mountain corridors, setting a slower, more spacious rhythm for the day.
Durmitor National Park marks a clear shift in scale. Part of the Dinaric Alps and protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the massif is defined by sharp peaks, deep valleys and the presence of water everywhere.
Rather than attempting to cover the park in full, the day focuses on a few defining places that capture its character.
At Black Lake, often called the heart of Durmitor, time is left open for an unhurried walk along the shoreline.
The full circuit takes about an hour and offers constantly changing perspectives as forest, water and peaks interact. This is a place that rewards slow movement and quiet observation rather than explanation.
FUNKY TOURS TREAT
Local Lunch at Durmitor
Lunch is served in the Durmitor region as a Funky Tours Treat. Set in a mountain environment, the meal highlights local Montenegrin cuisine suited to altitude and climate.
Simple, hearty dishes arrive without rush, matched to fresh air and wide views. It is the kind of lunch that feels earned, best enjoyed without checking the time. By now, the journey no longer needs explanation, only space to settle.

In the afternoon, the journey continues toward the Đurđevića Tara Bridge, spanning the Tara River Canyon. When completed in 1940, it was the highest road bridge in the world. Today, its scale and setting remain striking.
Time is given to walk across the bridge and take in the depth of the canyon below. For those seeking a final adrenaline moment, the nearby zip line offers a dramatic way to experience the landscape from a different angle.

As the day draws to a close, the route turns south again. Drop-off is arranged in either Kotor or Dubrovnik, depending on the chosen itinerary.
The return toward the coast feels quieter after the openness of the mountains, marking a natural conclusion to the journey. And for some, simply a pause before continuing on with us a little longer.

Perfect tour company!
We spent two days with them for a private tour. Or guide Robert was very kind and helped us with everything we needed. Also took us to a road restaurant where we ate the best goat of our life. Also Chelo our driver was very good. Nice driver, careful and ready to face the bosniak roads. Highly recommended. Thank you!!
What a wonderful tour!
As part of the group of six friends traveling in October 2025 (mentioned in another recent October review), we traveled to seven countries with Funky Tours and greatly enjoyed the trip. Our guide Stefan and driver Ermin are wonderful, engaging professionals who anticipated and solved problems before we realized there were any. CEO Ema had designed a thoughtful approach to the tour that Stefan further tailored for us, addressing our various interests in recent and ancient history, archaeology, nature, and heritage. Our local guides were insightful and we especially benefited from hearing the perspectives of several who lived through the war years. We were lodged comfortably in 4-star hotels, and the size of our Opel Vivaro van made for quick processing at borders (compared to that for larger tour vehicles).
October was a beautiful time to travel – with the linden, birch, and maple trees in their autumn colors, the trip from Montenegro into Kosovo was spectacular. A boat trip on Lake Skadar was also a highlight.
The tour was very reasonably priced, and we highly recommend Funky Tours if you’re interested in traveling through the Balkans.
Great tour to see and learn about the Balkans
We did the Funky Tours 12-Day Best of Balkans small group tour that visited Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina, and Montenegro.
The organization of the trip on the part of Funky Tours was wonderful – we visited many beautiful sites while learning about both the more recent and the past history of the region.
Our tour guide, Ajla, has a terrific knowledge of the region and gave us great recommendations throughout the trip. It was my first time traveling with a small group tour, and the group got along very well and enjoyed the time together.
One interesting thing for us was that some of the people on our tour were on the 16-day version that’s also available, so some of the people had started before us and continued on for a few days after us. In terms of timing, the end of September-beginning of October time is a perfect time to do the tour.
The weather is still good, but the crowds have started to die down a bit.
Nice Balance Between Must See Off the Beaten Path with Traditional “Must See” Sites
I found Funky Tours by accident when I conducted a Google search for Balkan vacations. I was looking for a travel group that offered a tour of the former Yugoslavia, and they were the closest one I could find in a single trip.
My husband and I selected the 16 day from Slovenia to Albania (with Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro included). Our guide and driver were excellent–extremely flexible and accessible and ensured all our desires were met.
The accommodations for the entire trip were top notch, and the selected sites were a good combination of “off the beaten path” adventures and typical must-see or “tourist trap” sites. The prices were reasonable, the staff was knowledgeable (including the city guide tours in various locations) and a good balance of guided trips with free time.
Highly recommend.
Highly Recommended
My friends and I just came back from an 8 days Jewels of the Balkans tour. Some os us took the pre tour in Slovenia and post tour in Dubrovnik. Funky tours provided us a fun, amazing and memorable vacation.
The iteneraries were well planned. We seen several historical sites, visited different parks and experienced the local vibes. The accomodations were superb and all were located in the historical old towns of each city we visited .
This allowed us more time to explore on our own. The private transports to and from airports and between cities were safe and reliable. The drivers, kudos to Samir for his driving skills, were friendly and helpful.
Our main tour leader Ajla and the local guides were all excellent, passionate with what they do and showed a great patriotism to their own countries. When we had questions or needed assistance at any time during our tour, funky tour representatives Edna & Amelia were always available by phone or text.
We hope to join Funky Tours again in our future trip/s to the Balkans for more explorations and discoveries. Thank you Funky Tours for your assistance!
