When your sailing holiday feels easy, it usually means someone has done a lot of preparation. Here is what that looks like at Funky Tours. Recently, we changed the route of one of our four-day trips in Croatia.
The Bura wind had settled in for four to five days, affecting our planned crossing towards Kornati National Park through Murtersko More. The waves were around 0.6 metres. That might not sound particularly big on a screen, but the number alone does not tell you how a crossing will feel, especially for guests with little experience at sea.
We rearranged the trip within the Šibenik archipelago, bringing Murter and Prvić into the route alongside our regular stops in Zlarin and Skradin. There were still beautiful islands to explore and lovely places to spend the evening. We took care of changing the plan.
For us, that is a good place to begin explaining all-inclusive sailing. The boat, meals and included costs matter. So does having someone thinking carefully about your holiday before you arrive and throughout your time aboard.
The catamaran is the hardware: your cabin, bathroom, the galley, the deck and the equipment that makes life aboard possible. The software is our knowledge of how to bring everything together.
Which route suits the group? Where will we be comfortable overnight? What should we buy for the kitchen? Which marina makes sense for tomorrow’s forecast?
With Funky Tours, you book the boat together with the crew, preparation and local knowledge needed for a complete sailing holiday. You can arrive knowing these details already have someone looking after them.

We own and operate Lagoon catamarans ourselves, so our preference comes from practical experience. We know their layouts, onboard systems and the everyday details of living and working aboard. That familiarity helps us prepare properly and notice when something needs attention.
We do not own every boat we use. When we arrange a partner catamaran, we choose trusted operators and boats we have previously rented, used and assessed ourselves. We want to know the boat through experience, beyond its photographs and equipment list.
Our expectation is straightforward: the catamaran should be thoroughly prepared, clean and ready for the holiday we have promised. We would not knowingly set off with an unresolved fault that compromises safety or makes the boat unsuitable for the trip.

Before you travel, we send an online form asking about dietary preferences and allergies. Your answers help us plan meals and buy the right ingredients. Where an allergy needs further discussion, we can address it before you arrive.
We cook home-style meals on board using fresh, whole ingredients, with dishes prepared from scratch. Knowing what you enjoy and what you need to avoid helps us organise the kitchen properly.
We also consider the group itself. On cabin departures, we take account of what guests are looking for and aim to bring together people with compatible expectations. We cannot promise everyone will become lifelong friends, but we do put thought into who shares the boat.
A private family trip may need a different rhythm from a group of friends keen to spend more time sailing. Learning about those preferences helps us plan around the people aboard.

Before the trip, we create a WhatsApp group with our guests, the skipper, the host and a member of the Funky Tours office team. You can ask questions, clarify arrival details and get to know the people looking after you.
During the holiday, we share useful tips, local recommendations and, with guests’ permission, photographs from our time together.
Our office colleague stays involved too, providing an extra point of contact and helping us keep an eye on how the trip is going. If something needs attention, you have a straightforward way to tell us while we can still do something about it.

We plan each trip in advance, follow weather reports and coordinate with local partners. Marinas are informed of our expected arrival days ahead, rather than only hearing from us as we approach the harbour.
Choosing a stop involves the approach, shelter, facilities and how the day will feel for our guests. A place can be beautiful and still be the wrong choice for that evening’s conditions.
Our Bura trip is a good example. Kornati National Park was in the original plan, but another route made more sense for the group. Knowing the area gave us alternatives we could feel comfortable offering.
Sometimes the most valuable decision we make is to change direction early, explain why and give everyone a more comfortable day.

When the wind, conditions and route allow, we want the sails up. Switching off the engines and hearing the water around the boat is one of the experiences we love sharing.
Fuel is included in our sailing package. You do not receive an additional fuel bill at the end, and we manage that cost within the agreed price. It gives us another practical reason to sail when conditions are suitable, alongside the simple fact that we enjoy it.
There will also be times when we use the engines: manoeuvring into a marina, travelling through a calm spell or reaching a comfortable overnight stop. Guest comfort, safety and sensible planning guide those decisions.
Our guests do not have to organise a separate boat rental, recruit a crew, provision the galley or budget for a final fuel settlement. We bring those responsibilities into one holiday.

One booking, the sailing essentials covered
Explained before you book: dinners ashore are generally extra unless a dinner is specifically included. Optional excursions, personal purchases and requested upgrades are separate. Included drinks and transfers are described on each trip page.
No hidden compulsory sailing costs, and no unexpected fuel or mooring bill at the end.

We account for the operating costs when we price your trip. We also explain what you may choose to spend separately. Understanding the full picture before booking is part of a hassle-free holiday.
Much of our work happens quietly in the background: reading forecasts, buying provisions, preparing the boat, speaking with marinas and thinking about the next day.
You are welcome to take an interest in all of it. Ask about the route, learn about sailing or chat with the crew about lunch. But you do not have to manage it.
You can spend that time swimming, enjoying breakfast, exploring an island or sitting on deck. That is what we mean by all-inclusive sailing with Funky Tours: a boat we know, a crew looking after you and a holiday planned with your comfort in mind.
