In the summer of 2024, Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, welcomed the inaugural Silver Frame Film Festival (July 15-17th), a groundbreaking platform for filmmakers from around the globe, with a special emphasis on short films. This festival celebrates the power of short formats as one of the most dynamic and innovative ways to tell stories, explore emotions, and inspire change.
The Silver Frame Film Festival curates a distinguished selection of both feature-length and short films, handpicked by renowned selectors from prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Sarajevo, and Sundance. The festival’s lineup tackles contemporary societal, ecological, and cultural themes, amplifying diverse voices and perspectives from around the world.
But Silver Frame is more than just a showcase of cinematic brilliance. It fosters connections between local communities and global film trends, promotes young talents, and nurtures new film aesthetics. Through workshops, film residencies, and masterclasses, participants gain valuable skills and deepen their understanding of the universal language of film.
At its core, the festival is a space for dialogue and innovation, where art and community intersect. It seeks to create bridges—between local and global, art and society, and history and the future.
As a proud partner and sponsor of the Silver Frame Film Festival, Funky Tours is honored to support this transformative event. Srebrenica, with its profound historical significance, is deeply intertwined with the story of Bosnia and the Balkans.
